This School Facade designed by ADT Facade Solutions houses the IT block of a busy school. This School Facade has many architectural glazing features, including an atrium, ribbon curtain wall glazing, trespa rain-screen, zinc cladding, recessed aluminum cladding, architectural louvers.
The main feature of this School Facade is the atrium glazing, the atrium of this School Facade divides the new information technology block from the old building, the linear two storey atrium divides the new from the old forming a positive architectural link between the old school teaching block and the new information school block.
This atrium glazing draw ins natural daylight to both the existing school block and new IT bock.
The external surfaces of this School Facade are chosen from the Wicona curtain walling range, constructed by ADT Facade Solutions.
The atrium roof glazing is almost flat tilting gently into a valley gutter along the old school wall.
A secondary steel structure supports the overhead glazing.
To allow the water drain off, the external face glass is toggled and the external face glass is fritted and silicon sealed.
The existing School Facade wall is retained in its full glory and a key aspect of this facade solution was the detailing of architectural interfaces externally to allow architectural glazing features stand independently as to avoid conflict with existing materials.
A key feature of this School Facade is the Miesian style recessed architectural cladding separating classrooms, allowing the curtain walling of this School Facade run around three sides of the information block.
Continuous integrated Aluminum louvers glazed within this Wicona 50 stick curtain wall system is an important part of the mix mode ventilation strategy of this School Facade
High performance aluminum sashes within the Wicona curtain wall grid ventilate the classrooms during the day to this School Facade.
The delicate lines of this Wicona curtain wall School Facade solution act as a contemporary backdrop to the internal furnishings of the classrooms. Large windows connecting to the outside with wonderful views of the landscape.
